House cleaning can seem overwhelming at first, but by identifying what needs to be cleaned and creating a systematic routine will make cleaning seem easier every time. Although every room in your home is different we are going to talk about the living room. Living rooms in general experience human traffic, dust build-up and lots of other human factors which make them disorganized and dirty. Here are several steps to consider before you start cleaning to help you clean faster and more efficiently.
Identify Problem Areas: Whether you are vacuuming you carpets or organizing a shelf the best way to begin cleaning your living room is not cleaning at all, but rather taking a step back and identifying what needs to be cleaned.
Remove Objects: The next step is to remove any large furniture or fragile items that might get in the way of your cleaning. For example, if you need to dust behind your TV or underneath a table you can move those object into another room for the time being so they do not slow you down or make cleaning more difficult.
Create a System: Once you have begun cleaning it is important to create a system. One way to create a system is to clean from top to bottom while moving around the room left to right. This way as you work your way around the living room you won’t miss a spot and you will be cleaning more efficiently.
Practice: Yes practice does make perfect and the more time you spend cleaning the faster and more efficient you will become. Once you have a system in place the more you use that system the more routing cleaning will become.
Have Fun: Having fun while cleaning might seem impossible, but there are ways to stay motivated and rid yourself of stress while cleaning. Music is a great way to take your mind of cleaning while actually cleaning. Runners can run longer and faster while listening to music because it takes their minds of the physical stress. The same concept applies to cleaning! You can also turn on the TV, dance and even sing while you clean.
