Spring cleaning is a yearly global tradition that people who live in colder climates practice. After being trapped in your home because of cold weather, the spring is the perfect time to open up the windows and get some cleaning done. During the winter people generally spend more time inside their homes which make their carpets, upholstery and other aspects of your home dirty. Dust builds up during the winter because there is less ventilation which is why in the spring you can open up your windows and clean your home from top to bottom. Many people also take this time to take care of outside maintenance tasks such as removing debris from their lawn and gutters. Considering the days are longer in the Spring, it is a perfect time to get your windows cleaned to let in the sunlight. Here are a few house cleaning chores to add to your Spring cleaning list.
Get organized: Spring cleaning starts with organization. By straightening up around the house you will be reducing clutter and opening areas of your home. Organizing objects that are in the way of your cleaning will not only make your house cleaning more efficient, it will also make it safer.
Remove Dust: During the winter dust build up in homes is at its worst because of less ventilation in your home. While spring cleaning you should arm yourself with an extended duster to remove dust from every nook and cranny. To remove dust from your upholstery, bring your cushions and pillows outside and lightly beat them. Then use a suction type vacuum attachment to remove and excess particle.
Vacuum you’re Carpets: Moister and dirt from the snow during the winter usually are tracked inside from our feet. We recommend spending extra time vacuuming high traffic areas and entrance mats to ensure all the debris from winter gets cleaned up. Getting your carpets steam cleaned or shampooed is also a great way to brighten the inside of your home and keep your carpets clean and maintained.
Wash your floors: You may not notice your floors losing color because it happens gradually. We recommend washing all your floors with a microfiber mop. Microfiber is reusable and more efficient than your average mop and will remove dirt and dust you cannot see.
On the next warm weekend start your Spring cleaning and make it a family activity, the more people helping the faster it will get done. Overall Spring cleaning will make your home brighter, less stuffy and revitalized.
