Cleaning never stops even after spring, and for some people who are well organized staying clean can be easier than for others. Unfortunately cleaning is tough work and sometimes we let procrastination get the better of us. When we procrastinate, cleaning tasks and chores seem to build and build making cleaning a more daunting task than it can be. However there are ways anyone can stay on top of their cleaning.
Stay Organized: Staying organized might be easier said than done, but it actually can be easier than you think. Simple things like setting up shelve systems and using boxes inside your closets can make even the most unorganized space look neat. We also recommend staying as paperless as possible. Paper whether it is mail you receive or paper items you keep in your home office can pile up quickly. We recommend using a folder system in a drawer to organize important mail and printed items. Before you decide to keep an item ask yourself, “what purpose does this serve and will I need it again?” Once you develop a simple to use system your ability to organize papers and your home will follow.
Clean as you go: When it comes to cleaning it is the little things that seem to add up. Cleaning as you go is a great practice that will prevent you from cleaning up larger messes. Next time you store something in your closet remove and item that you don’t need any more this will keep you organized and prevent you from running out space. Cleaning as you go instead of cleaning when necessary will prevent cleaning tasks from building up.
Create a Cleaning Schedule: When was the last time you had your windows washed, carpets vacuumed, or floors washed? For many people keeping track of these cleaning tasks can be difficult. Scheduled cleaning and maintenance of your home is the best way to save time and money on cleaning. We recommend using your smartphones to schedule cleaning tasks that way you receive calendar notifications when it is time to vacuum or dust around your home. A schedule is not only a great way to make sure tasks get done it is a great way to split up tasks and save time and effort.
